Medical Dental Dialogues

About OHA’s Medical Dental Dialogues

Oral Health America’s Medical Dental Dialogues provides a platform for medical and dental health professionals to share knowledge and treatment protocols for diseases and conditions that affect the mouth and makes this information available to communities of students, clinics, practitioners, and interested individuals in the general public.

In the last decade, numerous studies have shown linkages or associations between periodontal disease and systemic diseases, including complications of stroke, heart disease, pre-term and low-weight births, diabetes, and respiratory diseases such as pneumonia. Most adults show signs of periodontal or gingival diseases.

OHA seeks to connect with new audiences through symposia, podcasts, webinars, educational tool kits, and other media to share emerging research on the relationship between periodontal disease and a growing number of chronic diseases.
