Donated Dental Products
The Smiles Across America® (SAA) Product Donation Project supports local community efforts to provide oral health preventive services to children most at risk for dental caries. Last year, SAA supported over 140 local community programs that impacted over 350,000 children in 35 states and two U.S. Territories.

SAA Product Donation Project also supports, “Seal Two Million” our commitment to America’s Promise. In 2001, we promised to seal 1,000,000 teeth by 2010; we have renewed our promise to seal 2,000,000 teeth by 2020!
Smiles Across America ® Product Donation Program- How it Works
Oral Health America partners with several major manufacturers who want to support the local community members who are providing care to the most at risk in our communities- our children! These companies provide OHA a supply of preventive dental materials such as sealants and fluoride varnish, and some consumable materials such as toothpastes and flossers to be distributed to quality programs dedicated to improving the oral health of children in their community.
Smiles Across America® Product Donation Project Eligibility:
Any locally based program is eligible for the Smiles Across America® Product Donation Project if they meet the following program eligibility:
- Be a non-profit or public health program without available funds to purchase product; or as a result of this donation can demonstrate expanded number of children served
- Provide preventive oral health services to children with limited access to oral health resources
- Utilize only properly trained and licensed personnel who operate within state or
federal practice acts- Be in good standing with all local, state and federal regulatory bodies as they apply
to your program.- Identify Oral Health America as part of your organization’s projects. This can be through placement of Oral Health America on websites, publications, annual reports, press releases, etc.
- Have no outstanding reports due from previous product donations from OHA .
As of January 23, 2011 the SAA Product Donation Project Application process is online. Faxed or paper applications will not be accepted. You will receive an email acknowledgement of your application and to schedule a phone call with OHA staff to discuss your request and to complete the application process.
Smiles Across America Product Donation Project Reports
All Product Donation Project recipients are required to complete a report of their use of the product. This report is due 90 days after the completion of their event for on- time events such as a sealant drive, and every six months for ongoing programs. For programs who are also Smiles Across America grantees, please complete a the grantee product donation report within six months of the request.
