Dear Friends of OHA:

Thank you for your commitment to oral health in 2010 — whether you placed sealants on a child’s teeth, treated and comforted a frail older adult, provided education for families at a health fair, or e-mailed a legislator about funding oral health care reforms.

Everything you have done counts. We appreciate you work, your time and your gifts.

Oral Health America looks forward to your ideas, questions and support in 2011. We want to provide more opportunities for more Americans to improve their oral health, and we wish you had all of the resources needed to make that happen!

We made a public commitment to America’s children via America’s Promise to seal two million teeth by 2020. OHA’s commitment to you is that we will do our best to provide information, products, services and grants to bring healthy mouths to life.  In our quest to improve the nation’s health through better oral health, is important to us that we earn and keep your trust and support year in and year out.

With gratitude,

Beth Truett

OUR 114 PRODUCT DONATION PARTNERS BRING HEALTHY MOUTHS TO LIFE YEAR-ROUND

A student at Highland Elementary School in Roseburg, OR, learns to floss using yarn and an egg carton before receiving an oral care kit donated by OHA to Umpqua Community Health Center.

OHA-donated oral health care products including dental sealants, fluoride varnish, toothbrushes, toothpaste, flossers, and Trident sugar free gum enable our Smiles Across America® Product Donation Partners to provide needed oral health care and education. 114 partners received product in 2010. See who they are!

“We were very grateful to receive the donations of  oral care kits including toothbrushes and toothpaste, which we provided along with oral hygiene education to over 300 children. The kids were so excited to receive their kits–one second grader told us that he had never had a toothbrush of his own.” said Brenda Lewis, Umpqua Community Health Center, Roseburg, Oregon.

Dental sealant donations, key to our Seal Two Million Campaign strategy, allow local programs to reach more kids. OHA provided 174,724 sealants to our product donation recipients this year.

“Without this generous donation it would not have been possible to place sealants on as many Maine children as we did. Partnering with OHA allowed us to not only place sealants, but to educate children about their oral health,” Sabrina Toye, RDH, Tooth Protectors, Lewiston, Maine.

We are committed to helping them reach their 2020 goal,” Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bret Wise said at the event.
